CHENANGO COUNTY, NY — Solstice has partnered with Chenango County, New York to support its Solarize Chenango County campaign. In conjunction with the Chenango County government, Solstice will provide clean energy access and 10% electric bill savings to NYSEG and National Grid customers in Chenango County. Through Solstice’s community solar offering, Chenango County residents and businesses within NYSEG and National Grid’s service territories can subscribe to a share of Solstice’s Norwich Solar Farm in Norwich, NY, or Rome Taberg Solar Farm in Rome, NY, respectively.

Every home and business that enrolls will help Chenango County earn points and qualify for grants under NYSERDA’s Clean Energy Communities program. For every new Chenango County subscriber, Solstice will donate $50 toward clean energy and energy-efficient projects for the county. In addition, each new subscriber will receive a $50 sign-up bonus.

Through a subscription-based model, community solar makes clean energy accessible to renters, apartment-dwellers, and those who are unable to put solar panels on their rooftops.

“Community solar expands energy savings to those who cannot install solar on their homes or afford to buy expensive renewables,” said Solstice’s Senior Partnerships Coordinator, Alex Goldfarb. “We’re excited to provide this opportunity to many residents for the first time and to help keep more money in the pockets of Chenango County households and businesses.”
